The district administration in Indore has started the process of granting land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages that were included in the municipal corporation limits in 2014. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently directed this initiative during a meeting in Indore. Residents or their heirs who occupy residential land in these villages without a lease can apply for a lease under land holding rights. Currently, landowners in these villages face obstacles when trying to sell their houses or secure loans for construction due to the lack of registration or lease documents. They can now apply for land holding rights based on a circular issued by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. Successful applicants will be granted a 30-year lease, allowing them to easily sell, transfer, or secure loans against their property. Camps will be organized on September 29, 2024, at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia for residents to submit applications. SDM Rau Vinod Rathore stated that online applications will also be accepted during these camps. Applicants must bring specific documents such as utility bills, government correspondence related to the plot, property tax receipts, and voter list information.
